Redcar freezes when opening up the attached file

Wehn I open the attached file, redcar freezes, constantly spitting out these messages on the terminal:
/home/darkliquid/Apps/redcar/bin/../plugins/edit_tab/tabs/edit_tab.rb:
line 124 (null)-CRITICAL **:onig_rx_search: assertion self !=
NULL' failed
It's seems to work fine with an empty file of the same name so it's presumably related to contents rather than the filename.
This is running on my Jaunty installation following the instructions linked to on the redcar homepage.
