Editor doesn't follow word flow correctly

Since the soft-tab updates, the editor isn't following the word flow correctly using the arrow keys.
How to reproduce:
On any line other than the first or second, place the carrot at the
beginning of the line, press the left arrow key, and the carrot
skips to the beginning of the document.
