Red car hangs indefinitely when I try to launch it.

Basically, I haven't been able to get this to work. I have installed from source, and also from the gem (using --pre). I have tried using Java 6 and 5.
Here is a list of my gems installed for JRuby, might this be some help?

Wow, a screencast with a bug report, good stuff!
Apple made some modifications to their JVM (or something) and so there's a special flag needed to run on OSX:
jruby -J-XstartOnFirstThread bin/redcar
That should fix it for you.
