fuzzy finder doesn't display if type too quickly

Currently if you open up a large project, and type in the
filename, nothing ever appears if you finished typing
before the refresh occurred. You have to "guess" when it is done
refreshing and type another character, which is unexpected.

Is this behaviour still observed in recent releases? The logic for this has changed since the ticket was opened.
