Control+Click Mac OS X does not work as a right-click alternative

As the title says, when using the touch pad on my macbook, and using control for right-clicking, it does not seem to work. In my particular example, I tried to rename a file by ctrl+clicking, but i did not receive the tool tip menu. This applies to when using a mouse as well (CtrL+MouseButton1).

I wonder if this is down to how SWT handles events, or something else. If someone can actually point me in a direction of looking at event handling, I'd love to try and fix this.
