re-search sometimes gets frozen

How to reproduce:
open RC's README.me
search for "by." a few times.
It searches correctly for the first two, then gets "stuck" on the third. It appears that for some reason with the third the cursor ends up at the beginning of the highlighted area, thus repeating the search finds the same match over and over again (typically it places the cursor after the highlighted area after a successful search).
