Highlighter has trouble with Scala

When opening Scala / Scala Spec files, the highlighter trips over some things.

For instance:

imports are colored in a funny way.
() is sometimes colored weird.
keywords like 'object', 'class' and 'case' are not always highlighted the same.
special scala-ish operator do not get highlighted properly (this might not be possible due to the nature of the language)

How to reproduce:

1) Open the attached scala files.
2) observe.
