Application#refresh_menu! makes the main menu stop responding indefinitely

Any call to Application#refresh_menu! on master seems to make he menu stop working, even after several minutes of waiting, even though the menu text is updated. I noticed this with the strip_trailing_spaces menu item (Enable/Disable) and the new snippets_menu branch I'm working on. Nothing in the console though.

Strange.. it's working for me, I just tested it with the strip_trailing_spaces menu item and your snippets menu. There's a slight pause (maybe half a second), but after that the menu responds again.

Bah. Its another gnome-globalmenu issue. SWT does not play nice.
