PHP files open with HTML highlighting
Reported by Pockata | May 10th, 2011 @ 08:37 PM
It's kind of annoying that when i open a PHP file (.php) it is
highlighted as HTML and i have to manually change the source
type.
And also .php3, .php4 files are highlighted as Plain text. These
are legacy file types which are no longer used but are often seen
in old code packages.

You press Ctrl+Shift+E and the bottom bar appears. From there you can switch the highlighter language :)

Awesome, thanks dude! I seem to lose syntax highlight altogether when I set it to PHP. At least the errors go away and the tabs (4 width, hard tabs) are right.

No problem :) I've experienced the highlight loss, but it happens on specific files. If you rewrite the file manually and save it with another name, the problem will be gone :)

I also noticed, if you get rid of "?>" at the end of files, highlighting is restored. This many not be possible every where though ("library" files that are required typically do this)
