The way the redcar launching process works is incompatible with rbenv. The LOAD_PATH that gets inherited by the "java flags path/redcar options" process doesn't contain the overall rubygems paths so things like redcar-icons are not in the LOAD_PATH.

Haven't dug into it too much but seems related to how the shims setup the environment and it not being inherited by the launched process properly. Not sure if redcar or rbenv one should blame but thought I'd mention it in case someone has a good view on it.
