undefined method `all_changes' for nil:NilClass when I start up redcar
Reported by Eduardo Garibay | August 24th, 2010 @ 07:44 PM
After encountering the first problem from "find in project" I closed and restarted redcar editor, but it gives me the following error when it starts up.
undefined method all_changes' for nil:NilClass
I have attached the "log" of what happens when I start the editor.
I'm using
ruby 1.8.7 (2009-12-24 patchlevel 248) [i686-linux]
If it does any help :)

Hey Eduardo,
This is an issue with the new SCM support, it looks like you're running an older version of git.
Can you please tell me what your get if you type into a console:
git --version
Cheers,

Hello Matt,
Sorry for the late response, just got back from the holiday. Well I checked the version of git and I currently have git version 1.6.0.4
I'm going to try to update to the latest and I'll let you know how things turn out.
Thanks

Ok, had a bit of trouble with the update since I had git-core from apt-get and that version was the latest. I removed it and installed the newest from source. I ran redcar and I stopped receiving the error. Thanks a lot Matt this solved my problem :)

Git 0.7 is required for Redcar, but I didn't realise. Sorry, if you'd not updated Git and just updated Redcar, you'd get an error now :)
Cheers,
