Creating a new file from the editor and can't open it with the editor

Version: 0.4.1
OS: Ubuntu 10.04 32bit
Steps to produce:
1. Open redcar.
2. Select a directory, right click and choose "New File".
3. Give it a name.
4. Hit Enter or trying to double click the file.
IT DOESN'T OPEN!
A work around:
Open another file first, then try to open that file. It works.

This is fixed in 0.5

I have version 0.5 and this still happens.
Also, ticket # 200 is not the same as this ticket, and it would be nice to have a link to the duplicate ticket.
