Block Selection sometimes overwrites goes into overtype mode

Reported by skim | September 27th, 2010 @ 08:21 PM

I'm trying to use block selection (Command+B). It works in some cases, where I'm able to enter new text on all lines selected, but in certain cases it goes into overtype mode and overwrites existing text to the right of selection. This is a behavior I do not expect.

Try this block of code: http://gist.github.com/599376

Before the word "trans", it works fine, but after the first argument of "trans", it starts getting funny. I can't undo once in block selection mode so I have to close the file to regain the original state (see #218, #291 for Undo issue).

This was reproduced in RedCar 0.6.1, Mac OS X 10.6.
